Private Health Care Supervisor - LCSW

Essential Duties

Depending upon specific program, incumbent may perform any or all of the following:

  1. Performs supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, and training clinical and non- clinical staff; manages performance, conducts performance appraisals, takes disciplinary measures as needed; implements on-boarding procedures with new staff.
  2. Directly manages, supervises, and monitors mental health services provided by treatment team identified in the client treatment plan. Ensures treatment team is continuously reassessing the needs of client/family and necessary adjustments/updates are made to treatment plan.
  3. Provides individual, triadic and/or group supervision to Staff. Ensures continued development, education, and training is offered to staff in accordance to program expectations, licensing requirements and in accordance with staff/program needs.
  4. Reviews clinical documentation (e.g., CANS, CTP's, Dashboards, Outcome Measures) for accuracy and to ensure fidelity to EBP model.
  5. Oversee that client charts are maintained within QA and program standards. Participate in peer audits and monitor the completion and corrections of QA/peer audit findings.
  6. Confirms quality service delivery through completion and submission of documentation (progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, notes to chart) as outlined in policy and measured via reports. (Refer to Progress/Case Note Submission Policy)
  7. Comes prepared to conduct supervision by discussing supervisees' current caseload, documentation and service hours; issues constructive feedback and direction; and ensures supervisees utilize feedback within their service delivery to clients.
  8. Maintains knowledge of program standards and policies as developed by Five Acres, COA, Community Care Licensing, DCFS, DMH, and other governing bodies; develops personal and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in in-service programs.
  9. Completes client risk assessments in accordance with PHC program trainings/protocols. Ensures immediate communication of client risks to PHC Director and emergency mental health providers in the community.
  10. Exercises good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
  11. Oversees and manages:
    1. Tracking and distribution of program data.
    2. Monitoring and ensuring compliance to contracts and accreditation (COA) standards.
    3. Program initiatives to formalize and standardize clinical services (forms, procedures, etc.)
  12. Incorporates Agency philosophy and mission in all aspects of job description.
  13. Receives feedback with commitment to on-going refinement and professional growth.
  14. Maintains confidentiality regarding children, families, and operations of the Agency.
  15. Establishes and maintains rapport and effective working relationships with child(ren) and families and works effectively within the Agency and social work community at large

Qualifications
To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have:

  • LCSW license required issued by the State of California, plus a minimum of two years post-licensure experience.
  • Must maintain licensure as a condition of employment.
  • Training in Supervision Practices as specified by the Board of Behavioral Sciences to supervise AMFT and ACSWs.
  • Training in an Evidence Based Practice, and serving 1 client per practice, if applicable.
  • Experience and education relative to the specific type of clients he or she will be supervising.
  • 2 + years' experience in the areas of family and child welfare, mental health and child abuse prevention and treatment.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written.
  • Working knowledge of community resources that address the special needs of the client base.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Computer skills sufficient to meet production demands of the job including Microsoft Office and WELLIGENT software for program notes, and maintain detailed, accurate and complete records.
  • Ability to work varied hours including evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Must have a valid California Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and meet the Agency's safe driver guidelines.
  • Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among the clients, families and staff.
  • A basic understanding of age-appropriate behavior for children/adolescents.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures of the Agency.
  • Ability to model positive behaviors and Agency values.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership skills sufficient to supervise a staff of approximately eight to ten.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Compensation Range: $74,400/yr - $119,040/yr
