Intake Certification & Training Specialist

Essential Duties:

  1. Complete paperwork for prospective foster parents by gathering necessary documentation and clearances for certification/approval and re-certification/approval renewal.
  2. Travel to prospective and certified/approved foster family homes to perform initial home inspections.
  3. Maintain strong collaborative relationships with foster care social workers, DCFS technical assistants, and DCFS intake staff to appropriately match families with children. Maintain ongoing communication with certified/approved and prospective foster parents as a means to establish and maintain relationships to assist in the intake process.
  4. Field intake calls from DCFS looking to place children with Five Acres approved foster parents.
  5. Input data into databases directly related to the tracking of placement information, foster parent certification/approval, and agency policy and procedures.
  6. Keep the Foster Family vacancies list current and email updated vacancy list to DCFS multiple times per week based on the needs of the Foster Care program.
  7. Meet with RHAS training team at least once quarterly to assess training services provided and evaluate any enhancements needed.
  8. Trains all new staff and conducts annual retraining to current staff using the RFA pre-service and annual training curriculums.
  9. Submits timely documentation in EHRS in compliance with contract and agency policies and expectations.
  10. Provides skill-building services to RFA applicant families using a community-based approach. Services will be offered in-person and/or via telehealth. Will be available to work late afternoons and early evenings, including Saturdays to accommodate work schedules of RFA applicant training needs.
  11. Participates in supervision by coming prepared to discuss current caseload, documentation, and productivity; accepts constructive feedback and direction; and puts feedback into clinical and or therapeutic practice with clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a mental health related field
  • At least three (3) years of certified experience in the last five (5) years instructing; teaching or training adults in Resource Family approval OR at least five (5) years of experience instructing teaching or training in parenting or child development.
  • Valid California driver's license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance company.
  • Understanding of DCFS and the foster care system required.
  • Understanding of adoption, preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of CCL Title 22 Regulations, CA State Interim Licensing Standards, and FFA Regulations preferred.
  • Experience with Extended Reach preferred. Must have EHRS skills to input referral and client information into Extended Reach and Welligent, including demographics and case associated facts and individuals.
  • Must have computer skills sufficient to meet the documentation needs of the job, including strong MS Office, MS Excel and EHRS skills.

  • Able to work varied hours necessary for fielding cell phone calls including light duties on weekends and evenings.

Compensation Range: $23.65/hr - $36.19/hr
