Group Leader On-Call

Essential Duties 

  1. Establishes rapport and effective working relationship with clients to effectively and successfully assist them through the adoption process.
  2. Responsible for assigned groups' set curriculum; identifying additional essential needs/services and communicating to coordinator; following up, as necessary.
  3. In collaboration with other group facilitators, conduct Adoption Education and Support Groups and group meetings during traditional business hours and on evenings and weekends.
  4. Ensures completion and timely submission of required documentation; including case notes, documenting clients' progress, goals and objectives.
  5. Maintains materials, books, and other resources that are up-to-date for providing age appropriate adoption education; and consistent with development needs.
  6. Develops/improves group facilitating skills; through reading, participation in seminars and other educational opportunities, and personal contacts in the field.

  9. Maintains knowledge of program standards and policies developed by Five Acres, licensing and other governing bodies.

Qualifications

To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Counseling or a closely related field.
  • Prior 2 years social services experience, preferably with a similar client base, preferred.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of contemporary training techniques for children; prior teaching experience, desired.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
  • Must have a valid California Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and meet the Agency's safe driver guidelines.
  • Computer skills sufficient to meet production demands of the job including Microsoft Office and routine research database software.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Compensation Range: $19.38/hr - $28.67/hr
