Grants Associate Part Time

Essential Duties 

  1. Supports Lead Associate, Grants to develop foundation and corporate fundraising plans and projections to meet and grow current annual target fundraising goals for foundation and corporate grants.
  2. Must have strong research and writing skills with ability to seek out and evaluate new funding prospect opportunities and draft letters of inquiry, and grant applications.
  3. Must maintain proficient knowledge of the organization's history, mission and programs in need of funding and able to persuasively communicate Five Acres' needs.
  4. May be assigned special projects or initiatives as needed.
  5. Supports data needs for reports on progress status of proposals and grants received and drafts grant reports, as assigned.
  6. Participates in funder site visits as needed.
  7. Maintains agency's profile on GuideStar/Candid profile.
  8. Incorporates agency philosophy and mission in all aspects of job performance.
  9. Receives feedback with commitment to on-going refinement and professional growth.
  10. Maintains confidentiality regarding children, families and operations of the Agency.
  11. Exercises good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications 

To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills.
  • Strong proficiency in operating computer including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email).
  • Experience and skill with writing and editing for research, including grant applications, IRB applications, and manuscripts for peer reviewed publications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials and confidential information with discretion and tact.
  • Ability and willingness to take initiatives, be proactive, as well as to follow directions. Skill in organizing people, information and material in a systematic manner.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and succinctly one-to-one or on a group basis for the purpose of disseminating information to the public and explaining procedures.
  • Flexibility to respond effectively to changing priorities and fluctuating workloads.
  • Must be conscientious in attention to detail. Experience in performing systematic reviews and search engines
  • Must have a valid California Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and meet the Agency's safe driver guidelines.

Compensation Range: $27.45/hr - $42.55/hr
