DCFS Analyst

Essential Duties

  1. Conducts periodic internal audits of client case records for DCFS contracts with a focus on documentation compliance including meeting timelines, accuracy and quality; reports and follows-up on missing, incomplete or out of compliance documentation to Program staff, Supervisors, and QA team.
  2. Works collaboratively with the QA team and Programs to analyze internal and external audit findings; identifies trends and training needs to improve data collection, record maintenance, and compliance; makes system recommendations, where appropriate, to Program Directors, Supervisors, and Providers.
  3. Prepares audit summary reports of electronic reviews and case record reviews.
  4. Oversees organization of records for visits and audits; reviews and corrects audit instruments; and prepares audit reports as needed.
  5. Provides staff support and training for ongoing DCFS documentation compliance; responds to individual and group requests for assistance and training; promotes quality assurance practices.
  6. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of documentation standards and requirements per DCFS contracts and other entities (e.g., COA). Updates policies and audit tools.
  7. Maintain accurate storage and documentation of charts in chart room and other locations.
  8. Recommends and assists in writing policies and procedures to facilitate communication and adequate information flow to improve quality assurance and compliance issues.
  9. Makes regular visits to all program sites to observe activities for quality assurance purposes; interfaces with program staff about quality assurance issues
  10. Attends and participates in department staff and support meetings, in-service programs, Agency meetings, and county meetings as appropriate
  11. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other agency departments to coordinate services and functions as needed
  12. Incorporates Agency philosophy and Mission in all aspects of job performance
  13. Maintains confidentiality regarding children, families and operations of the Agency
  14. Exercises good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications 

  • Must have a High school diploma, or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience working with Electronic Health Records software (i.e. Welligent).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and precision, specifically with documentation.
  • Collaborates well with others as a team, but also capable of working independently and prioritizing tasks to meet daily workload requirements while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written, including public speaking.
  • Must have a valid California Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and meet the Agency's safe driver guidelines.
  • Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among the clients, members, partners and staff.

Compensation Range: $22.50/hr - $30.38/hr
