Cybersecurity Engineer

Essential Duties 

  1. Create risk management strategies and design a security roadmap according to critical business functions and risks.
  2. Design and implement secure networks and infrastructure for HIPAA HITECH data protection.
  3. Maintain technical knowledge of security best practices, adversary activities, CVE, NIST framework and identify the gaps within the organization.
  4. Troubleshoot security and network problems.
  5. Monitor and protect organization's data, network and infrastructure with appropriate security controls.
  6. Participate in the change management process and keeping relevant documentation updated.
  7. Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities.
  8. Identify and respond to scope of incidents or breaches. Communicate and complete reports of such events in a timely manner.
  9. Create, update, and refine security policies and procedures.
  10. Collaborate with vendors on IT security and infrastructure projects, operations and monitor contract lifecycle.

Qualifications 

To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent is required to have:

  • A degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or related qualification
  • Minimum certifications: COMPTIA Security+ and CCNA
  • 5 years of work experience with incident detection, incident response, and forensics
  • Network and systems design architecture skills
  • Experience with network administration, Firewalls (VPN, IPS/IDS)
  • Proficiency in Python and/or Power Shell
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques
  • Strong team coordination skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills

Compensation Range: $88,023/yr - $149,639/yr
